With boutique and design hotels popping up all over London, it's no wonder that the hotel has become the hip new hangout of It girls and groupies. The London Edition, a chic new hotel in Fitzrovia, is home to two amazing bars and one great restaurant, and has quickly become one of the hottest hotspots in town.
Walk in to the Ian Schrager-designed space, from the sidewalk directly into the Lobby Bar, with its soaring, ornate ceilings and beautiful people milling about. Make yourself cozy on one of the velvet slipper chairs or grab a seat at the bar, in this modern, edgy and seductive space. Drinkies? Try the Vermillionaire (vodka, lemon juice, sage sherbert, orange flower water, strawberry puree, Prosecco, £13.50) from the extensive cocktail menu or a glass of champers (£14).
For an even more exclusive experience, walk past the check-in desk, by the huge neon artwork and into the Punch Room Bar. Designed to reflect a private club, the wooden-paneled bar is discrete and perfect for hiding away with your date or gal-pal. On the menu here are craftily concocted punches (surprise!), perfect for sharing, made for 1, 2, 4, 6, or 8 people, (£14/ person). Try the signature Edition Punch (house recipe with gin, lemon juice, oakmoss syrup, orange blossom water, jasmine tea) or the funky Milk Punch (cognac, rum, cider brandy, green tea, lemon juice, pineapple, spices, syrup and milk).
And the food? Who needs it with all these amazing drinks! But if you are a bit hungry, try Berners Tavern, with gourmet goodies served up by hype chef Jason Atherton. A glamorous affair with soaring ceilings, floor-to-ceiling paintings, and modern Brit cuisine, even a supermodel could muster up an appetite to eat here.
The crowd? It-girls Cara, Alexa, Daisy, Pixie, and Kate have all been by.
