Restaurant, bar, food store, cafe, wine cellar, bakery... Bluebird Chelsea is truly a one-stop-shop for all of your noshing needs. Whether you try out the beautiful garden cafe for Sunday brunch or evening cocktails on a warm day or dine inside the restaurant upstairs, Chelsea residents find themselves frequenting Bluebird, just as Kate did when she lived in the ‘hood, pre-Duchess days.
The Art Deco garages, built originally for the Bluebird Motor Company, are now part of the Conran group that controls the restaurant. Inside, the upstairs bar and resto sit under a soaring beamed ceiling, complete with striking chandelier and fab flower arrangements. (We sense that many a selfie have been taken here.)
Modern European cuisine is on tap at the Bluebird, focusing on classic dishes and seasonal produce. A deal for a London meal, we like the 3 course set menu for £25 - try out the Smoked Potatoes with Truffle, followed by Miso Salmon, and Passion Fruit Panna Cotta. Nom nom. Or come for brunch and enjoy a classic Eggs Florentine (£8.50) or Grilled Peach and Beetroot Salad (£9.75), all washed down with a glass of British champers (£9.75), naturally.
And if you can’t get enough of the Bluebird emporium, check out the concept store next door, The Shops at Bluebird, for some post-lunch retail therapy.
